Format Pane
This section contains all the settings and formatting options under the “Format” pane the Powerviz offers. It includes settings like number formatting, title, background, and others. If you want to know about advanced settings, read this article.

Powerviz license
Once you’ve joined Powerviz, you’ll have access to all the visuals in the library. You have received your credentials, which you must enter here to use the pro version.

Visual settings
Visual settings show and hide the advanced settings icon. This icon gives you access to open formatting options and customize them. Read this article to learn more about advanced settings.
Number formatting
Use number formatting to format the measure value. This number formatting is very easy to use.
The number formatting provides the following option:
Decimal Separator: The decimal separator by default is a full stop (1.23). It can be changed to any other symbol.
Thousand Separator: The thousand separators by default are, (1,000). It can change to any other symbol.
Decimal Places: Choose the number of decimal places.
Scaling Display: Control the scale of value from the list of auto, none, thousands, million, billion, and trillion.
Prefix: The prefix comes before the value and can be customized.
Suffix: Suffixes come after the value and can be customized.
Customized Scaling Label: To modify the scaling format, use the “customized scaling label”. The word million, for instance, can be spelled as millions, M, or Mn.
TIP Disable the Number Formatting option to apply the default Power BI formatting. Recommended in case of % type value.
Legend
Legend helps in detecting the categories by associating them with a color.
These are the options under legend:
Position: It defines the placement of the legend on the visual. Pick from 12 unique options.
Legend Title: Input the name for the title.
Formatting: Customize the font color, size, and family.
Footer
The footer in Powerviz visuals plays a crucial role in providing additional context and enhancing the overall functionality of the visualizations. Here’s a detailed overview of its features and functionalities:
Text: Add custom text to the footer.
Web URL: Insert a clickable link to a website.
Divider: Add a line separating the visual from the footer.
Divider Thickness: Adjust the thickness of the divider line.
Text Color: Change the color of the footer text.
Text Size: Set the size of the footer text.
Font Family: Choose a different font for the footer text.
Background Color: Set the background color of the footer.
Background Transparency: Adjust the transparency level of the footer background.
Alignment: Align footer content to the center, left, or right.
General settings
General settings contain the Power BI native features that are common in all visuals. Read about them in detail here.
Properties: The first option in the general tab is properties. The Properties option allows you to change the size and position of the visuals. You can choose the horizontal and vertical position on the canvas as well as the visual size’s height and width. With that control the gap and layer responsiveness using padding and advanced options.
Title: Add a title to your visuals. The title card offers the following features.
Title Text: Enter the custom title.
Text Formatting: Font size, color, and family.
Advanced Formatting: Bold, italic, and underline.
Background Color: Change the color.
Horizontal Alignment: Left, right and center.
Text Wrap: Wrap text into multiple lines.
In the recent update, you can also add subtitles and a divider. They come with font style and color formatting options.
Additional settings
Moreover, the general settings include settings for tooltips, header icons, alt text, and effects that control the background, border, and shadow. You can turn them on or off to control the selected visual option.
