This filter feature controls all the options that impact the interaction and view of the Filter.
Within the general setting, you get several options to format and customize the options in Filter.
The Powerviz Filter offers two views:
This style shows a single button on the screen. When the button is clicked, a full-screen filter pop-up opens. Make your selection and click the apply or clear button to save the changes. Use this option to optimize screen space without compromising on quality.
In this view, the Filter is always visible on the canvas. If the canvas area is smaller than the date picker, a scroll bar will appear.
In Filter Style, we offer three different filter styles: List, Check Box, and Radio Button. The List and Check boxes are commonly used when you have a hierarchy and multiple selections whereas the Radio button is used when you have a single selection.
This option is available when you have added multiple columns in Categorical Filed and Hierarchy. Using this option, you will be able to control the Hierarchy level. Within this, we get different options: 1. Fully Collapsed: Using this option all the levels in the hierarchy collapsed. 2. Fully Expanded: Using this option all the levels in the hierarchy fully expand. 3. Expand to a specific level: Using this option you can expand to a specific level in the Hierarchy.
Filter offers 3 different options for Expand/Collapse Icon, users can choose any of them as per their preference.
Powerviz Filter provides you the option to show selected items at the top. This function is useful when you have large data and you want to see the selected items at the top. To Enable this option: Go to Advanced Setting (⚙️) > Filter Setting > General > Tick the “Keep Selected Items at the Top”.
Using the Powerviz filter you can hide the Null/Blank category, value, or both. This option is helpful when you have a null/blank category or value in your data and you want to hide it.
Using this option, the user can easily customize the term that should represent the Null or Blank values
The Parent Node Aggregation feature enhances hierarchical filtering by allowing the user to choose how data is aggregated at the parent node level. Users can select from various aggregation methods, such as sum, average, count, or custom calculations, to determine how values roll up from child nodes to their parents.
Note - This feature is activated for hierarchical data that contains associated values.
Additionally, this feature offers options to visually differentiate parent nodes by displaying them in bold, making the hierarchy easier to navigate.
Users can also enable the display of node counts, providing quick insights into the number of items under each parent category.
This feature allows users to display or hide values in tooltips, helping to manage the visibility of detailed information and improve data clarity.
Note - To utilize this feature, users must populate the tooltip bucket of the visual with the relevant data.
Using this setting in combination with Hide Blank values, users can easily display the child nodes that do not have parent nodes as Parent nodes. This option helps users to maintain a consistent hierarchy across the report.
On enabling this option you can see the Select All button on your filter. Within this option, you also get the option to customize the Select All text. Using the Select All button you can select all the items in Filter at once.
Customize the label text displayed on the button.
Adjust the width and height of the button.
Set the border and background color of the button.
Choose the text color, size, and font style.
Apply formatting options such as bold, italic, and underline.
Using this option, the user can restrict the selection to a single item at a time. This is useful when focusing on one specific data point, such as a particular region or category, to ensure clarity and prevent multiple selections.
This option lets you highlight the selected item counts on Filter. The number of items you select on the filter will be shown on the filter visual. Formatting options for the Selected Item Count:
1. Count text color: Customize the count color. 2. Font Family: Change the font Family.
