Small Multiples

The Small Multiples feature allows users to split a single chart into multiple smaller charts, each representing a subset of data, making it easier to compare data points across categories.

Note:

To enable the Small Multiples feature, users must add categorical data to the Small Multiples Pane. Without this, the feature will remain disabled.


Toggle to Enable or Disable Small Multiples

  • Use this toggle to turn the Small Multiples feature on or off.

  • When enabled, charts will be divided based on the categorical data added to the pane.


Layout Tab

The Layout Tab provides controls for arranging and customizing the layout of small multiples.

View

  • Fluid: In this mode, the KPIs or charts are automatically arranged based on the available space and screen size. This ensures dynamic resizing and optimal placement of charts.

  • Fixed: Allows users to set a fixed number of columns for displaying the small multiples, offering a more structured layout.

Auto Columns Toggle

(Only available in Fixed mode)

  • Enabled: The number of columns is automatically adjusted for the chart layout.

  • Disabled: Users can manually set the number of columns for displaying small multiples, providing greater control over the chart arrangement.

Padding

  • Controls the spacing between each small multiple chart for a cleaner and more organized appearance.

Grid Gap

  • Adjusts the gap between rows and columns of the small multiples grid to refine the visual layout.

Checkbox to Change Chart Slider

  • This option enables users to switch between different charts in Small Multiples mode.

  • Allows flexibility in visualizing data subsets within the small multiples framework.


Title Tab

The Title Tab offers options to customize the title displayed for the small multiples.

Title Toggle

  • Turn the title on or off as per your preference.

Font Family

  • Choose from a variety of font styles to customize the appearance of the title text.

Styling

  • Apply additional formatting to the title:

    • Bold: Make the title text thicker and more prominent.

    • Italic: Slant the title text for emphasis.

    • Underline: Add a line below the title text for emphasis.

Size

  • Adjust the font size of the title to suit your design preferences.

Color

  • Set the color of the title text to match your visual theme.

Title Padding

  • Control the space around the title for better alignment and positioning.

Alignment

  • Align the title text as per your layout needs:

    • Left: Aligns the title to the left of the chart.

    • Middle: Centers the title above the chart.

    • Right: Aligns the title to the right of the chart.


General Tab

The General Tab provides additional customization options for the appearance of the small multiples cards.

Background Color

  • Set the background color for the KPI cards to maintain consistency with your visual theme.

Alternate Background Color

  • Define a color for alternate KPI cards to create a visually appealing pattern or differentiation.

Enable Border Toggle

  • Turn on or off borders around each small multiples card for better distinction.

Border Radius

  • Adjust the corner radius of the borders to achieve rounded or sharp edges, depending on your design preferences.

Shadow Toggle

  • Enable or disable shadows for the small multiples cards to add depth and highlight the visuals.

Shadow Color

  • Set the color of the shadow to match your visual theme.

Offset

Controls the positioning of the shadow:

  • Inside: The shadow appears inside the card, adding depth within the borders.

  • Outside: The shadow appears outside the card, creating a lifting effect.

Position

Choose the shadow's position around the small multiples cards:

  • Bottom Right

  • Bottom

  • Bottom Left

  • Right

  • Center

  • Left

  • Top Right

  • Top

  • Top Left

  • Custom: Manually define the shadow's placement for precise control.
