This section consists of all the advanced settings offered by Powerviz KPI. These are an extended set of features that improve the visual design and let you simplify the analysis. To open the advanced settings panel, enter the Edit Mode by clicking on the ✏️ Edit Icon in the top-right corner.

When you add data fields to the KPI by Powerviz visual, the onboarding screen appears, offering a seamless setup experience. This interface is designed to help you quickly configure your KPI visuals using templates, chart types, and themes. Below is a detailed explanation of each section and step-by-step guidance.

Overview of the Onboarding Screen

Templates Section:

  • Access pre-designed templates to create KPI visuals instantly.

  • Includes options to create a custom template or upload an existing one.

Left Pane Options:

  • Themes: Toggle between light, dark, or all themes.

  • Chart Types: Choose from various visualization types like bar, line, radial gauge, lollipop, and more.

Main Canvas:

  • Displays a variety of templates previewed with your data.

  • Select the desired template for your report.

Step-by-Step Guide

Templates Section

The templates area showcases a wide variety of pre-designed KPI layouts tailored to various use cases. Each template is responsive and adapts to your dataset instantly. You can either select from these pre-built options or:

  • Custom Template: Use this feature to create your own KPI layout from scratch for more personalized designs.

  • Upload Template: Import an existing template for consistency across multiple reports.

With over 100+ templates available, this section ensures that you have a starting point for any reporting need

Themes

Located on the left pane, the Themes section allows you to toggle between different visual styles:

  • All: Displays templates across all themes.

  • Light: Focuses on bright and minimalistic designs.

  • Dark: Highlights templates with darker backgrounds for contrast-rich visuals.

Themes ensure consistency across dashboards and help align visuals with organizational branding.

Chart Types

The Chart Types section in the left pane provides a wide range of visualization options, such as:

  • Advanced Text: Emphasize metrics with rich formatting options.

  • Radial Gauge and Liquid Gauge: Perfect for showing progress toward a target.

  • Line, Area, and Bar Charts: Suitable for visualizing trends and comparisons.

  • Lollipop, Waterfall, and Pie Charts: Specialized visuals for unique insights.

Clicking on a chart type filters the available templates, displaying only those that support the selected visualization.

Customization Options

Once a template is selected, you can further enhance it using additional features like layers, shapes, icons, and advanced formatting. Save your custom templates for reuse in future reports to ensure uniformity and efficiency.
